Entry Fees: $15 per class

No schooling fees
Show starts at 9:00AM

Schooling runs from 7:30AM – 8:50AM
Additional schooling available the day prior to the show for a $15 ring fee.

Hunter Show Series 2017VHSA ASSOCIATE COMPETITION MEMBER/BHSA SANCTIONED SHOWS
Riders must show in a minimum of 3 shows to be eligible for year end awards. Awards given through 6th place. Year End Awards to be given at the last October show.

All hunter classes to be judged on performance including way of going, style of jumping, and soundness. Manners and suitability to be emphasized in Pony, Junior/Children’s and Adult Amateur classes. In all equitation classes riders will be judged on hands, seat, guidance, and control.



Leadline: Open to children 7 years and younger as of December 1 of the current show year. Judged 50% Equitation and 50% suitability. Riders not allowed to cross enter into any classes where they would be asked to trot.
Pre-Short Stirrup Equitation: Open to riders 10 years and under as of December 1 of the current show year. Riders not allowed to cross enter into classes where they would be asked to canter or jump.
Short-Stirrup Equitation: Open to riders 12 years and under as of December 1 of the current show year. Jumps may not exceed 18”. Riders not allowed to cross enter into classes where they would jump over 18”. Courses may be trotted.

Hunter Short Stirrup. Open to horses and ponies ridden by children 12 years and under, however, shows may specify a lower age limit, i.e., 10 years and under. The jump height for this division shall be decided by individual horse shows, but should be no lower than 18″ and no higher than 2″ with a minimum of four (4) jumps. The Short Stirrup division cannot be combined with any other VHSA Associate High Score Award Division.
Open Hunter: Open to all horses and riders not cross entering in any divisions where they would be asked to jump higher than 18”

Student Equitation: Open to riders in their first or second year of showing over fences at 2’ or higher as of December 1 of the current show year. Courses may be trotted.

Hunter Pleasure Pony: Open to ponies ridden by Juniors with Hunter tack. To be judged on manners, suitability, soundness and way of going.
Pony Equitation: Open to Juniors mounted on ponies. Jump heights to be a 2’ for Small Ponies, 2’3” for Medium Ponies and 2’6” for Large Ponies. At least Ό of the riders may return for the flat phase.
Pony Hunter: Open to Ponies 14.2 and under ridden by Juniors. Small ponies measure 12.2 h and under and jump 2’, Medium ponies measure over 12.2 but do not exceed 13.2 h and jump 2’3”, Large ponies measure over 13.2h and do not exceed 14.2 and jumps 2’6”.

Junior Hunter Pleasure Horse: Open to horses ridden by Juniors shown with hunter tack. May be combined with Adult Pleasure. To be judged on manners, suitability, soundness and way of going.

Adult Hunter Pleasure Horse: Open to horses ridden by Adults shown with hunter tack. May be combined with Junior Pleasure. Horses may not cross into Junior Pleasure. To be judged on manners, suitability, soundness and way of going.
Equitation on the Flat: Open to Juniors and AA. May be split into Jrs. 14 & under, Jrs. 15-17, & Adult Am. May be combined if any or all sections have less than 3 entries. To be shown at the walk,, trot and canter both ways of the ring and judged on position, control and guidance.

Maiden Hunter: Open to horses and ponies in their first year of showing over fences at 2’ or higher as of December 1 of the current show year. No restrictions on riders. Jumps 2’
Thoroughbred Hunter: Limited to horses who are registered with or are eligible to be registered with the Jockey Club. Height will be no lower than 2’6”.

Green Hunter Horse/Pony: Open to horses in their first or second year of showing over fences at 2’6” or higher and ponies in their first year of showing at regulation heights as of December 1 of the current show year, including Pleasure and Equitation classes over fences. Fences at 2’ for Small Ponies, 2’3” for Medium Ponies, and 2’6” for Large Ponies ridden by Juniors, and Horses. To be split if entries warrant. Ponies to compete first.

Low Hunter: Open to horses and ponies. No restrictions on riders. Jumps 2’3”.

Children’s/Adult Amateur Equitation: Open to Juniors and Amateurs. Jump Heights 2’6”, At least Ό of riders may return for the flat phase.
Adult Amateur Hunter: Open to horses and ponies not ridden in a Pony Division ridden by Adult Amateurs. May be combined with Children’s Hunter. Jumps 2’6”

Children’s Hunter: Open to horses ridden by Juniors. May be combined with Adult Hunter. Jumps 2’6”

Working Hunter: Open to all horses not entered in a Pony Division. Jump heights must be a minimum of 2’9”.

Schooling Hunter: Open to horses & ponies. No restrictions on riders. Adults may ride ponies not entered in a pony division. Jump heights to be a minimum of 2’6” & not to exceed 3’. If less than 3 entries, may be combined with Working or Low Hunter but not both. Entries must jump the correct height for their division & it’s the Show Secretary’s responsibility to indicate which division it is.

Directions
From Fredericksburg: Take Rt. 17 North toward Warrenton for approximately 20 miles. (You will see a giant roller skate on the right). Take the next Right onto Ritchie Road. Follow for 2 miles. Turn Left onto Rogues Road. Follow for 2 miles. Turn left into driveway. (Driveway is immediately after a Christmas Tree Farm). Arena is past the barns. From Warrenton: Follow Meetze Road 9 miles. Turn Right onto Rt. 28S (Catlett Road). Follow for 2 miles, turn Left onto Rt, 610 (Midland Road). Go over Railroad tracks, turn Right onto Rogues Road. Follow for 1.5 miles. 11176 is on the Right. If you pass a Christmas Tree Farm you have gone too far.
