Bitsy is a neat combination of unique color, quiet way of going and sweet disposition. She is a 6-year-old, 14.1+ hand, peachy dun mare with flaxen pieces in her mane and tail. We have been having lots of fun foxhunting Bitsy this year--she is a babysitter-type ride for anyone who wants to relax and enjoy themselves in second or third flight.
Bitsy's background is in trail riding, mostly with children, and she is fun and easy for any level rider on the trail. She ties patiently to the trailer, stands to be mounted, will lead or follow in a group, crosses water and navigates trappy territory with the best of them. She does not have to tailgate the horse in front of her and does not get quick heading home or to the trailers. She goes with a loop in the rein at all three gaits and is SO COMFORTABLE–her trot is easy to sit and her canter is even better. She has a lovely walk, too, and can ride out with gaited horses and not have to constantly trot to keep up.
Bitsy hacks out alone, is not spooky, goes the same whether ridden consistently or intermittently and is equally happy in English or Western tack. She is so good in the hunt field because she is completely unfazed by dogs and the size or speed of the group she is in.
Bitsy was only recently started in the ring, so she's greener at that job but is smart and learning quickly–definitely a "push" ride, and she's a cute little hunter-type mover too! Tons of potential as a lesson or local show mount, would make a great guest horse and is plenty quiet for a timid amateur or junior. Bitsy has great feet, lovely ground manners, can live in or out, no vices, gets along with everyone in the field and is a real pleasure to have on the farm! This type of no-motor, safe-for-anyone personality is hard to find--don't miss out!
