**Experienced Equestrian Seeking Cross-Country Riding Opportunity**
Hi, I'm Alisha Jackson, an experienced equestrian and business owner near Linden, Virginia, looking for an opportunity to stay active in the sport while my own horse is still young.
My ultimate goal is to continue developing my skills in **eventing and cross-country**, and I'm hoping to connect with a trainer, barn owner, or horse owner who may have a suitable horse that needs an experienced rider for **exercise, conditioning, or schooling**. I'm also open to a flexible arrangement where I can occasionally help with horse care or barn work in exchange for riding opportunities.
I am **not looking for a full-time job or regular Monday–Friday work**, as I operate my own business. I'm simply hoping to find a mutually beneficial arrangement that allows me to continue riding and gain more cross-country experience while helping someone with their horses.
**A little more about me & my experience:**
* 32 years old and have been riding since I was **5 years old**
* Have owned and cared for my own personal horses & operated local barns
* Experience showing in **hunter jumper shows**
* Have been professionally involved in horse care and helping run barns and stables locally for **16+ years**
* Experience working around **high-level barns and programs, including those associated with Olympic-level riders**
* Have operated my own equestrian business for 10 years
* Currently have an active business with appropriate **licensing and insurance**
* Have plenty of professional and personal references available
* Comfortable with general horse care, handling, medical experience, barn responsibilities, and maintaining a high standard of horse welfare
* Looking for a **temporary, occasional, or flexible** opportunity rather than a permanent work commitment
* My current horse is only 3 years old, so I am not ready to begin a full cross-country career with him yet, but I don't want to step away from the sport in the meantime
I am open to discussing different arrangements and would be happy to provide references or additional information about my experience. My goal is simply to find the right situation with the right horse and person where it can be a **mutually beneficial opportunity**.
