Dressage barn in Keswick is in search of a groom/barn caretaker for several days a week. Openings are for both morning and evening feeds. Morning feeds are 7a-9a and evening feeds are 2p-4 in the fall/winter/most of spring and 4p-6p in the late spring/summer. Duties regularly include feeding/mixing grains, setting up hay/hay nets, cleaning stalls/rebedding with straw, cleaning and setting up water buckets. Horses are fly sprayed in the summer and blanketed in the winter. They wear bell boots year round. Foods are paid at a per diem rate which is at or above $20 per hour depending on your efficiency with tasks. Additional hours are available for extra tasks if interested and pay $20 per hour. Facility houses eight exceptionally bred Hanoverians and two mares due to foal in the spring. Mares at the facility include a Hanoverian two year old national futurity champion and USDF Multiple Year end reserve and grand champion who was second in the country during her Hanoverian Mare performance test during her testing year as a HPMC. For someone interested in learning more about dressage, dressage breeding, or Hanoverians this could be a unique learning opportunity. For the right candidate we are willing to offer some riding time/lessons in exchange for shifts work or a possible hybrid working student position under the tutelage of a USDF bronze and silver medalist.
